Before 2001, there was one night in Tokyo.

Tokyo 2000 takes Reika back to where it started—a yellow FC, a full tank of gas, a few friends, and nowhere she needs to be until morning.

The album follows a single night from beginning to end. Tokyo disappears in the mirrors as Reika heads for the mountains. Touge runs turn into tandem sessions, quiet overlooks above the city, a dangerous run back down, and one last blast through the expressway before heading home. By sunrise, the FC is under its cover, the keys are on the table, and Reika is lying awake while the night continues playing in her head.

Musically, Tokyo 2000 is the predecessor to the sound of 2001: raw turn-of-the-millennium underground electronic music, hard dance, hypnotic rhythms, dirty analog synths, psychedelic textures and sparse vocals—built to feel like a forgotten Japanese club CD you somehow found nearly 3 decades later.
